Because of the apartment fire in 2005 they have been living for 15 years in basement floor where is no amenities. The fire equaled the modest property of the Ghuzinyans within minutes. Only the walls are standing, which then did not turn into walls of the new house. From the fire they have been able to save only one TV. Sarkis and his wife Hripsime left without medical and identity documents after the accident. Having no other way Sarkis did what he could to create amenities on the basement floor of the burnt-out house. In last years, in a single room, Sarkis and Hripsime have been taking care of their 15 and 13-year-old grandchildren because they do not want to communicate with their mother.
