26-year-old Arevik Yenikolopyan of Shushi was waiting for the call of her husband, Karlen, a contract soldier, with her heart pounding during the 44-day national war. On November 2, 2020, Arevik spoke to his beloved for the last time, after which he heard the news that he was injured, and a few days later Karlen died without regaining consciousness. As Arevik says, she has already lost the most precious things in her heart: her husband, Shush, her husband’s burial and Artsakh. Arevik was born, grew up and raised a family in the city of Shushi in the Artsakh Republic, but the 44-day war took everything away from him little by little.
