During the last Artsakh war, Varuzhan sent his family to Armenia, and he remained in his native village to defend Drakhtik, but the fighting was fierce. After the war, Varuzhan and Stella moved from Artsakh to the Republic of Armenia with their 4 children. According to the couple, they suffered for years and left home, but found themselves in a hopeless situation.
