Having survived the Sumgait pogroms, Boris Gasparyan’s family settled in Artsakh in 1988. The family had just adjusted to the displacement when the first Artsakh war began and the family’s son, 16-year-old Boris, left for the war. During the four-day Artsakh war in 2016, the family members did not hear from Boris for 4 days and only after returning home did they learn that the latter had returned from the war. On November 7, 2020, in Shushi, at the hottest point of the war, Boris gave his life for the sake of the motherland, for the land for which he spent his whole life fighting.
