Arayik and Alvard Tovmasyans were unable to have children for many years and wanted to take custody of Arayik’s sister’s daughter – Hamest, however, they adopted Maryam. Everything seemed to have settled in the Tovmasyan’s family, but the alcohol addiction destroyed Arayk’s family. Alvard took Maryam and left. Now, lonely 64-year-old Arayik is left in the care of his sister’s daughter, whom he wanted to adopt many years ago.
