There were three turning points in the Sahakyan family. All three are fatal and very painful. It all started after the explosion of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. During eliminating the consequences, David developed serious health problems, which left their mark and now doctors are unable to do anything. The operation is dangerous and life-threatening for David.

The next tragedy was the 2006 plane crash that killed a 6-year-old family member. Not enduring that loss, years later, David’s wife, Zina, died.

Karine is with David today, who takes care of him and does not leave him alone in this difficult phase of his life but every day in David’s mind are his 6-year-old grandson and his wife.
