Ամպրոպից հետո Աննայի ու Հովհաննեսի կյանքի ընթացքը հիմնովին փոխվեց։

Դաշտում աշխատելիս կայծակը հարվածել է Հովհաննեսին ու դրանից հետո նրա մոտ առաջացել են լսողական խնդիրներ։ Հետազոտություններից հետո նշանակվել է նրա խնդրին համապատասխան հատուկ սարք, սակայն թանկ լինելու պատճառով ընտանիքը ի վիճակի չի եղել գնելու դա։ Դրա փոխարեն գնել են համեմատաբար ավելի էժան սարք, սակայն դա չի համապատասխանում Հովհաննեսի լսողական խնդրին և արդյուքում նա միևնույն է չի լսում շրջապատի ձայները։

Զույքը 2 անչափահաս երեխաների հետ ապրում է վարձակալած բնակարանում և հազիվ է կարողանում հոգալ կենցաղային հօգսերը։ Սոցիալական վատ պայմաններն ու խորացող առողջական վիճակը ընտանիքին կանգնեցրել են անելանելի վիճակում։
