50-ամյա Կարինե Սոպչենկոյի խնդիրները սկսվեցին պատանեկության տարիներին և մինչ օրս շարունակվում են:  Կարինեի խոսքով, նա 16 տարեկան էր, երբ ընկերուհին կազմակերպեց իր բռնաբարությունը, որի արդյունքում վերջինս հղիացավ , իսկ այնուհետ բարուրը ձեռքին հայտնվեց դրսում։ Կարինեի մայրը իրեն երեխայի հետ դուրս է գցել: Անտառում սկսվեց, բայց չավարտվեց անտառում: Բռնաբարություն, բռնաբարության փորձ, սպանություն և կալանավայր հենց այսպես անցավ Կարինեի կյանքը: Կարինեի  խնդիրներն այսքանով չավարտվեցին. սպանություն, վատ շրջապատ և մուրացկանություն:
