Աշոտն ու նրա մորաքույրը մինչև հիմա չեն կարողանում կիսել այն կտակը, որի մի մասը պատկանում է Աշոտին։ Դեռ 1984թ-ին մայրական տատը տունը բաժանել էր 2 թոռների միջև։ Տունը վաղուց վաճառվել է, բայց մինչև այսօր մորաքույրը՝ Սուսաննա Սահակյանը չի տվել Աշոտին պատկանող չափաբաժինը։ Այսօր Աշոտը այլընտրանք չունենալով բնակվում է Գյումրիի տնակներից մեկում։  Աշոտի կողքին իր երկրորդ կինն ու երեխաններն են։ Արփինեն հաշվի չի առել ամուսնու նախկինում ունեցած ամուսնության հանգամանքը և կյանքը կապել է նրա հետ, իսկ առաջին ամուսնությունից ունեցած երեխային ընդունում է հարազատի պես։
