73-ամյա Սերոբ Ամիրխանյանը մեծ հպարտությամբ հիշում է այն տարիները և այն գործերը, որոնք արել է հանուն հայրենիքի։ Չորրորդ որդու ծնվելու ժամանակ Սերոբը կորցրեց կնոջը, իսկ ամիսներ անց ծանոթանալով Սաթենիկի հետ, որոշում կայացրեց վերջինիս օգնությամբ մեծացնել երեխաներին: Տեսնելով որդու և թոռան մահը, Սաթենիկը և Սերոբը պայքարում են, որպեսզի չկորցնեն առողջական խնդիրներ ունեցող փոքր տղային: Այսօր ընտանիքը կագնած է բազմաթիվ խնդիրների առջև, և ամուսինները  ոչ մի կերպ չեն կարողանում  հանգիստ վայելել իրենց ծերությունը:
