2000 թվականին,  երբ Շավարշի տղաները Հայաստանից դուրս մշտական բնակություն հաստատելու որոշում կայացրեցին հայրենիքից մեկնել, Շավարշն իր մոտ պահեց 5 տարեկան թոռանը ՝ Կարենին: Թոռան հաջողություններով հպարտացող Շավարշը, Կարենին 2014 թվականին ճանապարհեց ժամկետային զին.ծառայության: 2015 թվականին հակառակորդի կրակոցից զոհվեց Շավարշի միակ հենարանը, որի զորացրմանը մնացել էր ընդամենը 4 ամիս ու պապին մնաց միայնակ իր հին ու նոր խնդիրների լուծման առջև:
