90-ականները Խաչատրյանների ընտանիքին տարան Մարաղա ապրելու, իսկ 20-ականները ստիպեցին թողնել ստեղծած տունն ու շենը և վերադառնալ Հայաստանի Հանրապետություն։ 2020 թվականին վերսկսվեց Արցախյան պատերազմը, որի վատ հետևանքներից անմասն չմնաց նաև Խաչատրյանների ընտանիքը: Չկարողանալով վերցնել իրենց հետ ոչինչ, Ալինայի և Վահագնի ընտանիքը հաստատվեց Արայի գյուղում, որտեղից էլ Վահագնը վերադարձավ հետ՝ Արցախ: Խաչատրյանների ընտանիքը  կորցնելով տարինների վաստակը չի կարողանում հարմարվել Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունում և ընտանիքը հայտնվել է անորոշության մեջ՝ չկարողանալով կարգավորել առկա և օր-օրի ավելացող  խնդիրները:
