Ամուսնու մահը չխանգարեց Ծաղիկին միայնակ ոտքի կանգնեցնել երկու որդիներին, սակայն հոր կորուստը ծանրացրեց Արսենի առողջական վիճակը: Թաթախված լինելով խնդիրների մեջ Ծաղիկը, Հայաստանում միայնակ թողնելով Արսենին, մեկնեց Ռուսաստանի Դաշնություն աշխատելու, բայց կարճ ժամանակ անց ստիպված եղավ վերադառնալ: Ծաղիկին թև ու թիկունք էր ամուսինը և ամուսնու մահից հետո փոքր որդու մոտ բարդացան առողջական խնդիրներ  ու այսօր Ծաղիկը չի կարողանում 36 տարեկան որդուն միայնակ թողնել տանը ու մնացել է առանց աշխատանքի:
