Առողջական խնդիրների պատճառով Մարտիրոսյանների ընտանիքի հոր՝ Հովհաննեսի երկու ոտքերն էլ բժիշկները ստիպված են եղել անդամահատել։ Բուժման ծախսերը ու պարտքերը վճարելու նպատակով նրանք վաճառել են բնակարանը ու ստիպված են անընդհատ մի բնակարանից տեղափոխվել մյուսը։ Հովհաննեսի ընտանիքի միակ աշխատողը նրա եղբայրն է՝ Գևորքը, որը ապրում է իր աշխատավայրում, բայց ամեն օր նրանց ապահովում է գումարով։ Նա իր կյանքը մղել է երկրորդ պլան ու ամեն հարցով օգնում է եղբոր ընտանիքին։
