Գևորգի կնոջ մահը քանդեց տարիներով կառուցած ընտանիքը, վերջինիս խոսքերով մեկ բաժակ սուրճն,  իր և որդու միջև կռվի պատճառ դարձավ, որից հետո նա հեռացավ իր ստեղծած տանից: Վերջին 8 տարիներին Գևորգ Խաչատրյանը մնացել է միայնակ Եղեգնաձորում վարձակալած այս տանը, սպասումով, որ որդին մի օր կբացի տան դուռը: Վերջին տարիններին Գևորգը դուրս է եկել իր տանից ու չի կարողանում շփվել հարազատ երեխանների հետ: 62-ամյա Գևորգը որդուց պահանջում է  իր տանից ընդամենը մի քանի պատ, որտեղ կարող է վայելել ծերությունը:
