1991 թվականին Տավուշ գյուղում, թշնամու գրադի հրթիռները հողին հավասարեցրեցին Սուրենի հայրական տունը, որտեղ ապրում էր վերջինիս բազմանդամ ընտանիքը: Պայթյունից արդեն 30 տարի է անցել, սակայն Սուրենին մինչ օրս չեն փոխհատուցել կորցրածը, որի պատճառով էլ Սուրենն ապրում է համագյուղացու քանդված տանը: Ոչ միայն քանդվեց Սուրենի տունն, այլ նաև ժամանակի ընթացքում քանդվեց նրա ընտանիքն ու տղամարդը միայնակ մնաց առողջական խնդիրների հետ: Այս տարինների ընթացքում Սուրենի ուժերն արդեն չեն հերիքում, որ քարը քարին կարողանա դնել և ստեղծի իր փոքրիկ կացարանը:
